This meeting is held on a bi-monthly basis to provide a forum for Riverside County K-12 accounting managers and directors to meet to discuss financial issues that will impact their districts and the county.  A wide variety of topics are discussed which include the state budget, Galaxy issues, Galaxy reports, new audit requirements, year-end and winter calendars, CDE requirements, etc.

The dynamic Teen Leadership Certification Workshop is the final piece of the certification process to teach the Teen Leadership curriculum for middle school and high school. It is a comprehensive one-day overview that provides a key step in the preparation process, giving participants the opportunity to practice the techniques and to spend a full day with other course leaders.

Outcomes:

·  Builds responsible citizens.

·  Builds self-confidence and hope.

·  Breaks down barriers between groups of students and between students and teachers.

Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) is a California Department of Education (CDE) funded induction program accredited by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to assist teachers in developing professional expertise and self-confidence as an educator in order to support all students in learning.

The RIMS-BTSA Induction Program provides a job-embedded route for eligible general and special education teachers to advance from a preliminary to a clear teaching credential for multiple subjects, single subject, and education specialist with the support and guidance from an experienced educator.  

Summer workshops provide an opportunity for cosponsoring agencies in the RIMS-BTSA consortium to hear annual program updates to effectively utilize the new forms and resources to identify eligible teachers, assess and monitor participant progress, and ensure completion for a clear credential recommendation to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.  These tools will enhance your ability to perform your district liaison or credential advisor role in guiding appropriate candidates toward their professional level credential.

A change to the presentation format is offered this year whereby participants may register for the interactive one-hour webinar and participate from a computer workstation of their convenience or register for the traditional two-hour workshop in Riverside or San Bernardino.  Identical topics will be covered in both formats, although the webinar will move through content at a faster pace than the workshops which will present more depth and activities for processing.  All webinar guests will receive log-in information to ensure computer connectivity and capacity, as well as access to a short orientation video, to become familiar with the online system prior to the live presentation.  Please select whichever format fits your personal mode of learning and your professional environment.

This one-day professional development workshop will give you the tools and experience you need to be comfortable using and enjoying microscopes in the classroom.  There will be lots of hands-on, guided practice with different microscopes.  You may bring one of your classroom microscopes for use as well.
