Differentiation for Special Populations: Highly Effective Teachers Believe That All Children Can Learn and Be Successful
Differentiation for Special Populations will support teachers in deepening their understanding of the struggles challenging some students at all levels in school.Participants will examine a backwards design model that will help them align differentiation and intervention strategies to students’ learning needs.They will also review their legal and ethical obligations relative to the full range of special populations; i.e., students receiving special education services, English learners, students with disabilities, advanced learners, and students with a combination of special instructional needs.Participants will discuss effective and practical variations in classroom strategies that will foster success for all students of diverse abilities, environments, needs, and learning styles.
